Asymptotic analysis of boundary--value--transmission problems with retarded argument

Abstract

We consider an eigenvalue problem for the Sturm--Liouville equation with retarded argument, subject to the mixed type boundary conditions and an eigenvalue parameter in transmission conditions. We investigate the spectrum, asymptotics of characteristic function and eigenvalues, oscillation of eigenfunctions, solution of an inverse nodal problem and trace of the differential operator of the related problem.
